Urbanization is accelerating, with over 68% of the world’s population expected to live in cities by 2050. To manage this explosive growth, cities must become more efficient, responsive, and sustainable. Enter the Smart City—a vision made possible by the Internet of Things (IoT).
In a smart city, everything from traffic lights and water meters to public transportation and waste bins is connected to the internet via IoT devices. These sensors continuously collect data, which is analyzed in real time to automate decisions, optimize resources, and deliver better services to citizens.
